This piece was very emotional to paint. My original idea was to do a painting of the second coming. I wanted angels in the background and Jesus stepping out of the clouds onto slickrock. As i was painting i kept finding myself singing the song, "Savior, Redeemer of My Soul." I felt God guiding me as i was painting. Instead of an image of the Savior coming to the world i was guided into making it a painting of the Savior Coming to an individual. This painting grew so much more meaning as i was painting. Especially through all the trials of 2020. In this painting you can see a puddle on the rocks showing that there had just been a storm. Some things we know about our Savior is that he calms the storms. As i was talking with a good friend she expressed fear of the way the world was, she told me she was afraid that these were the last days and she felt imperfect and was worried she was not good enough to meet the savior. I painted our Savior walking down slickrock steps to represent that he comes down to us. As we repent and turn to him we become enough. He loves us and walks with us where we are at.
